Celebrating 250 Years of America —
and Why We’re Proud to Call the Grand Strand Home

★   1776 – 2026   ★

250 Years In — and This Is Still One of the Best Places in America to Call Home.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of people decided that freedom, community, and the pursuit of something better were worth fighting for. On July 4th, 2026, we celebrate that decision — and the country it built.

We’ve been thinking a lot this week about what it means to live here on the Grand Strand. Sixty miles of Atlantic coastline. Strong communities. Southern hospitality that isn’t a slogan — it’s just how people are. And a genuine sense of belonging that you notice the first time a stranger waves at you at the grocery store.

On behalf of everyone at Coastal Carolina Group: Happy 250th Birthday, America. We’re proud to celebrate from right here.
What Makes This Place Special
★ What We’re Actually Celebrating
The Grand Strand isn’t just a beach destination. It’s a community — and one of the most genuinely welcoming places we’ve ever had the privilege of calling home.
🌊 The Coastline
Sixty miles of wide, sandy Atlantic beach. Warm enough to swim May through October. Quiet enough in the right spots to feel like it’s yours alone. On a clear Fourth of July evening, with fireworks lighting up the sky over the water, it’s hard to imagine a better place to be.
🏡 A Sense of Belonging
Whether you’re in Conway, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, or anywhere between, you’ll notice it quickly: people here know their neighbors. They show up for each other. Communities like this don’t happen by accident — they’re built by the people who choose to stay.

🤝 Southern Hospitality
It’s not a marketing phrase here — it’s a daily reality. The hold-the-door, wave-back, bring-a-casserole kind of hospitality that makes newcomers feel at home faster than they expected. It’s one of the first things people mention when they talk about why they stayed.
🌞 Quality of Life
Four seasons that all feel livable. Golf year-round. Seafood that was swimming yesterday. A cost of living that makes the lifestyle you want actually achievable. And South Carolina’s property tax rates that consistently rank among the most favorable in the country.
We get to help people find their place in this community every day. We don’t take that lightly — especially on a weekend like this one.

🎆 How the Grand Strand Is Celebrating America’s 250th
The Grand Strand doesn’t do one fireworks show. It does six. The coast lights up from north to south in a rolling sequence from 9 PM to well past 10 — and if you position yourself right, you can catch the glow of multiple shows from a single spot on the beach. Here’s your complete guide to the day:
🎆 Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
9:00 PM — Fireworks launched from the Second Avenue Pier over the Atlantic Ocean. Watch from anywhere along the 1.2-mile Boardwalk between 14th Ave and 2nd Ave Pier.
🎆 Broadway at the Beach
10:00 PM — One of the biggest shows on the Strand. Fireworks over Lake Broadway inside the entertainment complex — celebrating its 30th birthday this year with five consecutive nights of displays.
⚾ Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Post-game show — Red, White & Blue Weekend July 3–5 vs. the Hickory Crawdads. Special patriotic uniforms and post-game fireworks every night of the series.
🎆 Barefoot Landing, NMB
10:00 PM — Fireworks over the lake at Barefoot Landing on the Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach. The Barefoot Queen riverboat cruise is one of the best vantage points.

🎆 Cherry Grove Pier, NMB
9:30 PM — City of North Myrtle Beach’s official free fireworks show. Cherry Grove is also the first and loudest point of the Salute from the Shore military flyover at 1:00 PM — be on the beach by 12:30.
⛵ Murrells Inlet MarshWalk
10:00 PM — The Grand Strand’s biggest single fireworks show — a 20+ minute display over the inlet. Start the day with the 41st Annual Murrells Inlet Boat Parade at 10:00 AM for the full Inlet experience.
✈ Salute from the Shore — 1:00 PM
17th year of the beloved tradition. F-16 fighter jets from Shaw Air Force Base fly south along the entire SC coastline starting at Cherry Grove, followed by a Warbird formation of vintage T-34s, T-6s, and T-28s. Be on the beach by 12:30 PM.
🏃 Market Common 5K — 7:00 AM
The 17th Annual Independence Day 5K at Grand Park Lake on Farrow Parkway. Includes Uncle Sam’s 1-Mile Fun Run and a Stars & Stripes Kids’ Dash. A great way to earn those afternoon fireworks.
Weather reminder: All fireworks shows are weather-permitting. Grand Strand July afternoons can produce quick storms — if weather affects a show, most reschedule for July 5th. Check nmb.us and mbdowntown.org morning of July 4th for confirmed status.
And While We’re Celebrating America…
⚽ The USMNT Is Still In It — Let’s Go!
On July 1st, the US Men’s National Team gutted out a 2-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in the World Cup Round of 32 — with goals from Folarin Balogun and Malik Tillman. That’s the good news. The incredible news is that they did it down to 10 men after Balogun received a red card and still kept the clean sheet. That’s grit. That’s America.

Next up: Belgium — Monday, July 6th in Seattle on Fox. Set the alarm, find a bar, or pull it up on your phone between fireworks shows. The boys are still dancing and we’re all in.

Why People Are Choosing the Grand Strand
🏡 People Aren’t Just Visiting Anymore — They’re Staying
We’ve watched it happen consistently over the past several years. Families come down for a vacation, fall in love with the lifestyle, and start asking a different kind of question: “What would it actually take to live here?”

The answer, more often than not, is less than they expected. The Grand Strand offers a quality of life — coastline, community, climate, affordability — that is genuinely hard to match anywhere else on the East Coast at this price point.
Community pride, quality of life, and long-term value make the Grand Strand one of the best decisions a family can make. And on the 250th birthday of a country built on exactly that kind of promise — life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness — it feels right to say it out loud.
South Carolina’s effective property tax rate of around 0.57% is among the lowest in the country. Seven diverse markets across the Grand Strand mean there’s a community that fits virtually every lifestyle and budget. And the people who live here — the ones who chose to stay — are a big part of why others keep coming.
From Our Team
🤝 Proud to Serve This Community
We’re proud to serve the Grand Strand — and honored to help families find their place in it every day. Whether someone is relocating from Ohio, upgrading in Conway, investing in North Myrtle Beach, or finally making the move they’ve been thinking about for five years, our job is to make sure they land in the right home, in the right community, at the right time.

That’s not something we take lightly. This community has been good to us — and we plan to keep earning that trust every day.
From all of us at Coastal Carolina Group: thank you for being part of this community. Happy Independence Day. Go enjoy those fireworks.
